WhatsApp is testing new and important features around the security and privacy of your account

WhatsApp is testing some new features that will enhance the security and privacy of users, here’s a look at what these features are all about.

WhatsApp is testing new features

A recent report issued by WapitaInfo, which specializes in news of the WhatsApp application, revealed that the company is in the process of adding a new security feature and another to enhance the privacy of users.

New Security Feature: Sign In Approval

The new security feature will come in handy if someone tries to log into your account from another phone, in case they somehow gain access to the confirmation code sent in an SMS message when the account was first created in the phone.

If there is a login attempt from another phone, WhatsApp will alert you with a notification, you can easily decline the login request and protect your account.

It should be noted that this feature is under development and there is no information on when it will be ready for users. But you can take a look at what the login approval notice would look like in the following image:

New privacy feature: Hide phone number in groups

WhatsApp is also testing a new feature that hides the phone number in groups and communities.

With this new feature, your number will not appear in the list of members within the group, making it easier for you to maintain your privacy when you are in a group with intruders.

This option will be available under the group settings and can be activated if you want to show your phone number in the group members list. Take a look at the picture:

These new features are really important, so WhatsApp should be adding them as soon as possible in the upcoming WhatsApp updates.
