It can be said to work as a geo search engine for the world around the user. If you’re looking for a dentist or pizzeria near you, just type in the name or category and lots of pins will appear.

Press the pin for detailed information about that business or service. You can record your daily journey to work and Maps will guide you to public transport in your area. This feature is best for tourists exploring a new city. You can sync the app to your computer using the same Google account on Chrome.

Disabled transit routes

Wheelchair users can use the search wheelchair-accessible transit routes. Enter your desired destination on Google Maps, tap Directions, and select the public transit icon. Then tap on “Options” and in the “Routes” section you will find “wheelchair accessible” as a new route type. If you select this option, Google Maps will show you a list of possible accessible routes.

Save the location of your parked car

On Android phones, tap the blue location dot and select “Save Parking”, which adds a label to the Maps app showing where you parked. Tap to add details like parking garage level and space, or the time remaining until a meter expires. You can also set meter reminders and add a photo of your parking space.

To find your car later, tap the search bar at the top and select Parking. Or tap Drive at the bottom and search for Saved Parking. To delete, touch Drive > Delete. Or tap You Parked Here on the map, select More Info in the bottom left, and tap Delete.

Tilt your phone to guide your way

Sometimes it confuses a user to figure out which direction they are moving. To solve this problem, simply tilt your smartphone in different directions. Google Maps uses data from your phone’s gyroscope to figure out your orientation, and the blue dot casts a shadow to point you in the right direction. This way you can choose the right track or path.

Maps belong to the Travel category and are an integral part of Android Auto. Google Maps has been available on AndroidAPKsFree since its release on April 19, 2015.
